If you send a message through the contact form, we collect your name, email address and message. You can also choose to give your organisation, a topic and where you are. We use this information only to reply to you and to deal with your enquiry. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries. The form is processed by Formspree, which may handle the data outside the UK. We keep messages for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards, and no longer than necessary.
We use Umami, a cookie-free analytics service, to count visits and to see which pages are viewed, where visitors come from (the referring website), their country, and the type of browser, operating system and device they use. Umami does not use cookies, does not store personally identifiable information and does not track you across other websites. We use the counts only to understand how the site is used and to improve it.
The site is hosted by GitHub Pages, which may record technical information such as IP addresses in order to deliver and secure the site. We do not set cookies on siliconglen.com, and there is no advertising on it.
Our web server records IP addresses, the pages visited, browser details and the referring site. We use them to keep the site secure and to detect attacks, on the basis of our legitimate interest in security. We keep them for a limited period and no longer than necessary. An IP address can be personal data where it can be linked to a person.
